Not too short ago, I received the letter. It was an order to report for service on the 3rd of February 2010. And to think that it wasn’t that long since I completed my NS. Perhaps ever since my PES status got upgraded, I am suddenly so much more valuable.

In the days leading up to my Operational Ready Date (ORD), the countdown had already begun and I had set my status message on Adium to something along the lines of:

x days to fireworks!

where x refers to the number of days to my ORD.

It was February 08 when I was first attached to my current department. 20 months later, my replacement has found his way to take over what I have been taking charge of all these while.

The countdown has begun. I am just short of another 2 months away from completing my 2 years of NS. As much as I am looking forward to my last day of service, I have to prepare for my post-ORD life. I belong to the group of active people and can’t be spending my time at home being a couch potato, I could almost go berserk. And yes, I am not kidding.

You know your ORD is nearing when you are scheduled to attend your final IPPT. I have been bent set on getting a gold for it that it has been part of my new year’s resolution for the past 2 years.
