We were invited for a street soccer game, the location was set in a condominium in Simei. It was there that we crossed paths with a bunch of disrespectful and arrogant group of young kids.

The Teva National Beach Soccer Championships 2008 was held at Siloso Beach. In a somewhat last minute fashion, we registered at the cost of SGD $15 per person. Bikini babes and the sun while playing beach soccer. What’s not to like?

As I was about to leave for home on Tuesday, a couple of my NS friends invited me to a football session. Assuming it was for the afternoon the next day, I rejected them swiftly, citing my duty schedule as an excuse. It was there and then that I got to know of their crazy plan.

Thanks to our competitive nature, we are done with our longest lasting Saturday street soccer session to date; from 1030 hrs to 1730 hrs. The end result were badly sunburnt shoulders and a slight fever accompanied with body aches. At a point of time, I was contemplating a visit to a massage parlor.

I am on MC today. After Saturday’s street soccer session ended, I could barely stand. At first I brushed it off as fatigue wearing down on me and told myself that all I needed was a good rest, but when I woke up today feeling the exact same pain, I knew it wasn’t fatigue. Upon confirmation from the doctor, I had suffered a strained tendon on my right leg.
