Trying out Ashley Salon

I have been a faithful customer of Monsoon Hair Salon ever since April 2008. Throughout my time there, there were 2 hairstylists who could really bring out the look I really wanted and they have since left for new pastures. It was then that I decided it was time for me to move on as well.

Razlan recommended Ashley Salon with some really positive feedback. Time wasn’t on my side, I had to get a haircut by Friday for my ORD range shoot. Fortunately, a time slot was available for the same day that I called to make an appointment. Lucky me!

The salon is not located in your everyday shopping mall but in an office block called SOHO at Central. Before heading down, make sure you have a ready appointment. To make one, do contact them at 68353769.

To get there, alight at Clarke Quay station on the NEL and take exit E. You should be looking at a Burger King outlet, turn to your right and you would see a glass door leading to SOHO. But wait! You can’t enter just like that. It is locked. There is a listing of all the unit numbers, find Ashley’s Salon and contact them using the intercom to get them to open the door. Take the elevator to their designated unit number and you are on your way.

I have been rambling on and on that I forgot that I have yet to show you how my new hairstyle looks like at a very affordable price of SGD $30:

Haircut by Ashley's Salon

A tad on the short side but I was forced by circumstances. So far, I have heard nothing but pretty encouraging comments about it. Give me your views too.

On a lighter note, can you spot what kind of goofy expression I am giving out? And yes, go ahead and have a good laugh. I would be glad that you did.

I am glad that you liked your haircut. Enjoy Ashley Salon for me… since I won’t be around to patronise them any longer :(

Ashley is the BEST. No one, absolutely no one touches my hair but Ashley. I used to work in theatre for 4 years and Ashley does all the shows like Broadway Beng, Dim Sum Dollies etc. He’s like the David Gan of the theatre industry lol. So yeah that’s how i started going to him.

Anyway don’t you just love the salon?! It’s uber posh!

I agree. I am definitely going back to him for future haircuts but that will have to wait till I get my desired hair length. The previous one was so short that even after more than a month, it is still of an acceptable length.

I would like to give him a shot in a situation where I do not need to keep my hair ultra short like in the previous appointment.

The salon is very posh, for sure. It really gives a relaxed feeling throughout.
