WordPress.tv has been switched on thanks to the hardworking guys at Automattic. What is WordPress.tv? In a nutshell, it is Your Visual Resource for All Things WordPress.
I have always found covering a tutorial over a blog post extremely difficult. I can never seem to quite get my point fully across. Those reading it will always return with doubts which needs a better detailed explanation. A screencast would be a much more effective medium than a lengthy blog post. At the very least, it does not put off any potential readers.
Currently, the videos available on this new space are leaning more towards the basics of using WordPress. But don’t be surprised that even long running users might actually learn a thing or two from these videos. I am sure in time, there will be more advanced ones teaching more than just the basics. I am particularly looking forward to that.
Apart from all that goodness, you can also keep up to speed with the latest from the different WordCamps held across the globe. My personal favorite. You don’t just get the individual presentations, but much much more, including interviews, behind the scenes and even the presented slides.
Being at an actual WordCamp conference is something much more than all these though, it is an entirely different experience to take home, an unforgettable one. I hope to be able to attend one sometime in the future, but that would mean flying half way across the world; something I would gladly do.
At least for the time being, WordPress.tv is nothing like the theme directory where any registered user can submit a theme and get it listed there after being subjected to a review. In this case, your best bet of getting a video up is to recommend one through the provided contact form. Of course, I reckon there would be some strict monitoring as to which video goes up.
So far, I have yet to see any videos by the community. Would you be the first?
You would probably be racking your brains on a specific tutorial you would like to request for. But in the meantime, have fun enjoying the videos!

But I am sorry that I can’t visit it in China,it seems the IP address which WordPress.tv hosted is blocked by GFW(Great Fire Wall of China)
