I have finally received the 2 books which I ordered from Amazon.com after 3 weeks; PHP and MySQL for Dynamic Web Sites: Visual QuickPro Guide (2nd Edition) and PHP 5 Advanced: Visual QuickPro Guide.
Well it actually arrived last Friday (18th April) but no one was actually at home to acknowledge the package. I made the order on the 3rd of April and it’s estimated delivery date was the 5th of May. Instead of the estimated 1 month, it arrived in just 2 weeks.
Due to work commitments and my schedule on a Saturday, I authorized my mum to collect the article for me. As a result of a whole lot of confusion with the post office staff as well as time constraints, it was only now that I got the package in my hands.
Speaking of which, I felt that the personnel handling my request to collect the article was rather unprofessional. She said she would call me back once she clarifies on the day which I could actually collect my article, but that call never arrived. I just hate it when service staff say that they would get back to you but never do. Onto the article:
The books were in a really good condition, no defects whatsoever and this is the reason why:
I paid a total of USD $64.45 (includes the shipping costs – USD $14.97). I got 2 books for no more than SGD $95. It beats paying a shocking USD $70+ for a publication of Larry Ullman which dates more than 2 years at Borders. I can’t wait to get started on actually reading the books.
