Long Awaited Offer of Admission

It has been close to a painful 3 months of patient waiting for a response from IDP. The outcome is out and I have been offered admission as an international student to the Bachelor of Computer Science program in the University of Adelaide. There shouldn’t have been a doubt anyway.

I have been given a total of 36 units of advanced standing, cutting the duration of the program from 3 to a mere 1.5 years.

It is going to be a real challenge. Though it has only been a very short 4 months since I took my DSA paper, I have already clean forgotten some of the concepts taught. I better start revising.

The deadline for the acceptance and payment is set on the 1st December. I am required to pay up front for the tuition fee deposit and the Overseas Student Health Care amounting to AUD $9,000 and AUD $585 first. The current conversion rate between the SGD and AUD does not help too much either.

I will get down to preparing a bank draft before heading down to IDP to submit the relevant documents in the coming week. Hopefully things would be settled soon.

I have a clear idea where I intend to stay; at the University of Adelaide Village. The earlier I apply, the better. At the very least, if there aren’t any available apartments, I can look for another alternative. The last thing I want is to land myself in a situation where I have nowhere to stay when I get to Adelaide.
