I am going to present you a very shocking revelation but you could probably guess it by just looking at the title.
And yes, I have officially decided that I will not be heading over to Adelaide. Instead, I will continue the program from where I left off at NAAEC. Just like this toy plane, my plans have crashed to a point of no return not by forced circumstances.

You are probably puzzled by the sudden U-turn. Just a few months ago, I was enthusiastic about the prospect of a campus life in Adelaide, and out of the blue, I have decided to scrape it and remain in Singapore.
Reasons that Influenced my Decision
- I couldn’t bear to leave everything and everyone behind
- The AUD $ is making things a whole lot more expensive now
- Personal reasons
Payments Already Made
- Tuition fee deposit – AUD $9000
- Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) – AUD $585
- Accommodation deposit – AUD $625
I won’t be able to get back the full amount paid but just a percentage of it. Looking at the bigger picture, at least I am much happier now and actually saving several tens of thousands even after throwing in the amount lost by withdrawing.
It caught me by surprise that my parents were supportive in my move. I was expecting a huge tongue lashing from them and be forced to stick with the plan as I didn’t deal with the situation very well. I was wrong and all is well now.
The commencement of my next subject will begin in late January.

It isn’t entirely for her. The large part boils down to certain issues which I have come to know of, I would be better off studying in Singapore.
On one hand I’m glad you will be in SG, on the other the money that’s not going back to your pocket. I certainly hope you can get back at least that 9000 dollars of tuition fee deposit.

It does open a new dimension but at what cost? You should not be paying such a huge amount to only find yourself in an unfavorable situation. You are returning to the pitch next month?
i’m sorry to hear that you had to cancel your plans to adelaide. it’s tough when circumstances change and do not allow our plans to be executed smoothly, but that’s reality.
i’m currently facing the same situation with my application for graduate schools overseas and despite wanting to go very badly, there are issues in reality that we simply cannot ignore.
all in all, what matters is what we make out of the things we have. i wish you all the best with your studies.
When circumstances change, we have to adapt to it, even if its going to burn a hole in our pockets.
