Blog posts are inspired. It would be impossible to think out a potential title for one without having a base to start off with. Lorelle asks in this week’s blog challenge, where do I consistently find this inspiration to decide what to blog about?

I am not a writer, never ever had the makings of one. In my posts, it is evidently visible how structurally broken my flow of thoughts are.

One moment, a thought provoking conversation with a friend gets me started, and in another, an experience kicks start my writer’s train. These moments and experiences are the first places I start looking in for inspiration. When I am free from distractions where one can hear nothing but one’s inner voice, inspiration starts to invent itself, out of the blue. I go deep into thought, and there and then, it just flashes right in front of me. I immediately put it down in my to-do-list, ready to blog about it the moment I get to boot up a computer.

Of course, my inspirations are not confined to the boundaries of moments and experiences. I do a lot of development work in my day to day run, sometimes after making some breakthroughs, I would love to share it with my blog readers. Much of this can be attributed to frequenting several forums which requires assistance from the community.

Beliefs define us. It sets us different from others. In the same situation, we react differently from one another. Indirectly, it is my inspiration. And more frequently, I find myself using it as a base to kick start a blogging title. Being a proud Singaporean is a perfect example of my beliefs setting in as my inspiration.

The thing about inspirations being the starting point of our blog posts is that it sets us in our comfort zone, rarely will we ever step out of it unless forced, that is human nature. It is through blog challenges like this that we are given the go ahead to step out of our comfort zone. It has unknowingly occurred to me that participating in Lorelle’s blog challenges have become an inspiration in its own right.

What about you? I would like to know of the source of your inspirations.
