After 20 years of near perfect eyesight, I am finally resigning to fate that I may have to wear spectacles after all, but not entirely.

A few weeks back, I was unable to actually make out what was being flashed on the screen during lessons; a good 10m or so. The characters were blurry and out of focus.

I consulted an optician and I was diagnosed with mild Myopia and Astigmatism in my eyes. As the degrees were not high enough, I am not required to enlist the reliance of spectacles on a permanent basis.

Nonetheless, I am advised to use it especially if I am facing the computer or required to look from a distance in a lighted environment. In order to protect my eyes, I got myself a double coated spectacles so as to block out the UV rays being emitted from the LCD screen whilst using the computer.

I will take some getting used to this new look at times especially since I am actually looking like a bookworm. Of course I will showcase this new look when my hair gets slightly longer in a fortnight’s time.
