My permanent tooth crown has been cemented. For the past week, it was being created in the lab and the temporary tooth crown was in its place. Just like the previous visit, it was a painless procedure and lasted no more than 10 minutes.

Before the crown was cemented onto my broken front tooth, I was given the opportunity to have a look at it. Its color was almost identically similar to my other teeth. You won’t be able to tell that it is a tooth crown and more importantly, I would be able to smile confidently.

At first it felt a little tight, but as time passed, it would no longer be. I was told to bite in all different ways, and some flossing was done to ensure that there were no problems with the crown.

I was given a souvenir by the dental clinic. It was the temporary tooth crown that was fitted for the past week. Can you spot it?

My temporary tooth crown

It was the end of my tooth agony or was it not?  For the past few days, I have been feeling some discomfort down at the bottom right side of my mouth. Worried that it could be another wisdom tooth erupting, I got the dentist to check on it.

My fears had been confirmed. Though the pain is being felt at the bottom right side of my mouth, my upper wisdom tooth is the culprit. My bottom wisdom tooth was extracted in February. Right now, I am only suffering a slight discomfort, but in time to come, it might get really painful as the tooth grows.

When the dentist told me that an extraction would be required, my facial expression had changed. However he assured me that it wouldn’t be an operation like my previous extraction which required an entire week to recover. All I would need is half a day of rest and costs considerably much cheaper; SGD $80.

I have decided to get it extracted tomorrow. I just want to end my tooth agony as quickly as I can, it has been plaguing me for the entire year. Hopefully this extraction will conclude my misery which I have been put through for the whole of 2008.
