My posting result has been released.

For the next 21 months, I shall be serving the remainder of my National Service at the Ministry of Home Affairs as a Staff Assistant. Frankly, I wasn’t expecting my vocation to change from being one of a supporting role to an operational one despite my PES status upgrade.

Though I would much rather be deployed at the frontline whereby I can assume operational tasks. Regardless of my vocation, I am a fully fledged police officer and I will have to assume my responsibilities when the situation calls for it even if I am not on duty.

However being posted as a Staff Assistant does have its plus points too. For starters, I will only be working on weekdays at regular office hours, more specifically 8.30am - 6pm. I won’t have my weekends burnt and I get to enjoy public holidays just like everyone else out there.

Being a Staff Assistant would mean that I will be spending a lot of time in the office. However that does not give me reason to neglect my physical conditioning. I will continue to train hard and work towards one of my new year’s resolution for 2008 and that is to get a gold award in my IPPT.
