My passion for exercise
I love to exercise and am not afraid to admit it. While many others my age would have preferred cruising down the streets of Bugis on a Saturday, I chose to dedicate one-fifth of a day to playing football and any of my free time to working out. From where does this strong passion for exercise come from?
Frankly speaking, the answer isn’t very direct. It doesn’t just come to my mind fresh.
I suppose I like the idea of pushing myself to the very limit, to continue getting stronger and more athletic. Let’s not forget the benefits of exercising regularly too:
- Become more healthy
- Look better
- Gain a performance increase in any physical exercises
So strong is this passion that I always exercise even if I am bearing an injury at the same time. People around me call me “too stubborn” and I tend to agree to a very large extent. Every sportsman hates being sidelined for any period of time due to injury, no matter how long or short that may be. I am no different, I would jump at any chance I may get to actually be involved in exercising.
Every year when I look upon what has passed, I always tell myself that I would take extra care of my body and know when is the time to take a rest. And every year, there would be regular occasions of exercising while bearing injuries.
This is just the way I am, stubborn. My body knows better than anyone else whether I am able to exercise while withstanding an injury.
I fancy this is the kind of life I will lead for a very long time to come.
