Just 5 months since my holiday to Taiwan and I am already thinking of my next trip. As you would have guessed, this is more of a climbing expedition than a sight seeing holiday, but nonetheless they are both means to take a break from our regular lives and enjoy ourselves.

I am no experienced mountain climber, I have never climbed a mountain before in my life. But I have always been intrigued by this idea, reaching the summit and to test our physical endurance to the very end. Of course there are external factors deciding whether your climb would be a successful one or not.

I am not sure whether I would suffer from any altitude sickness while climbing the mountain since this would be my first time. This is definitely a challenge which I want to put myself through for 2008.

Our eyes are set on one of the highest mountains in South East Asia; Mount Kinabalu. Situated in Sabah, Malaysia; this is a mountain suited for beginners who have never done climbing before, and no mountaineering equipment are needed.

I have slightly over half a year to toughen myself. To be able to have a view of the surroundings from over 4000m would be breath taking to say the least. I am really looking forward to it.
