My favorite post failure
We are so used to pumping up our popular posts but what about the not so popular ones which you thought would create a buzz of responses from your readers? Lorelle challenges us to brag about our favorite unpopular post. Though this blog only has slightly over a year of archives, it was tough picking a post to brag about because there were way too many unpopular ones. But there has be a favorite.
Day 6: Wulai Falls
There is no disputing that Taiwan is a favorite holiday destination of Singaporeans. And I second that. As to why, that belongs to a post of its own for another time. I have come across a sea of readers who are absolutely into nature, this post should at least interest if not excite them.
Almost every single post about a blogger’s holiday to Taiwan would zoom into the heart of Taipei. There is an abundance of such experiences written out in words and pictures. But how many posts actually bring them into aboriginal townships? Wulai is located in Southern Taipei County. Do note that Taipei County is not the city of Taipei, it is located in Northern Taiwan.
For Singaporeans, a waterfall is a gem in it’s own right because we do not have such natural beauties in our country. We can only be comforted by their pictures on the Internet. To be able to gaze at the real thing in person is something priceless.
2 comments (excluding my own) to the post can hardly be considered successful even for a low traffic blog.
What makes this post an attraction could actually bring down its selling point. My readers probably would not have heard of Wulai Falls and in my opinion, that was enough to kill their interest in actually reading what I have written about. On the other hand, I figured that they would be beaming with enthusiasm instead if the post was actually about a more popular tourist attraction.
But I would like to hear from you readers. What part of the post on Wulai Falls turned you away?
Excellent example of a should-of that didn’t go anywhere. You might be right that the locale isn’t well known. Isn’t it interesting, though, what makes it and what doesn’t? Good example! Thanks!
