MiniMoo minimalist WordPress theme
1 Jun / 08
I have decided to release my latest minimalist WordPress theme as a stable one. Up till now, it has been stuck at 0.7b as there were a couple of features missing as well as some yet to be fixed lingering bugs.
MiniMoo’s the name
MiniMoo is a 2 column extremely light weight minimalist theme heavily based on MooTools framework 1.2.
Using almost no images, it is meant to provide zero distractions and focuses fully on the user’s content. And as always it is valid XHTML Strict 1.0.

Great theme there.. and a cute name too.. MiniMoo haha
Wah.. its really super minimalist!!
Good job! And I do like the idea of Ajax-ed themes
nice AJAX and Moomoo effects, gotta ask you to teach me some MooTools effect. Can? I don’t know why I only able to load one effect at a single time. =(
Btw, I can browse to Older Post.. but I can’t browse to New Posts.
Hello, i love how minimal and beautiful your work is,
where can i try out (download) your two themes?
thanks :]
Mohammad Taheri, thank you for your interest in my two themes. However they are not packaged for download as there isn’t enough requests to make them public. I will consider putting the download up if more requests are put though when I eventually switch themes.
i am very interested in them both since i’m thinking on concentrating my presentation on information more than anything else.
MiniMoo looks inspiring, and i love how it’s information centered and very clean looking.
i haven’t seen Mocha Lime but that’s probably just as swell,
here is one vote!
Mocha Lime was a theme I was not satisfied with, and out came MiniMoo. I must admit that it outdid Mocha Lime.
I want my blog’s theme to be unique, so unless I do a theme change, MiniMoo is unlikely to be available for download. However you are free to use my current theme as an inspiration, I would like that.
Very cool and slick… I’m a HUGE fan of minimalist themes and this one is definitely tops
Love this theme. It is in the direction of what I’m looking for. I currently have Theme Lab from Six Shooter Media as my theme, but like the simplicity of this. I like the use of AJAX in both posts and comments.
If you do release this for public, please let me know. Of course I’d take it and modify it a bit, but I’m just a hack. If only I was a coder…
Hi again,
aww, i didn’t know it was your personal theme!
i was initially put under the impression that it was a once public theme gone into private bc of maintenance issues :]
thanks i’m still looking for more inspiration before i start designing - but this is the closest i could find to what my idea of minimal + usable is.
So it was nice to see that it has been already thought of and made.
Very nice for minimal theme.
This is one of the nicest WordPress themes I have seen, and I have looked at a lot! The typography looks good. Too bad it is not available for “borrowing.”
I was looking for your Mocha Lime theme as well to see if that one was available for download. Hope there will be some public themes in the future.
follow: Thanks! These words really mean a lot to me as a theme developer. MiniMoo will go public once I manage to get a new theme going. Mocha Lime was a personal failure, that is why I have removed it.
Where I can download the 1.2.3 versión?
Franco: I have already submitted it to the theme repository, it fixes a couple of outstanding bugs, it should be up really soon.
Ok, is a very good theme.
Thanks for your work.
very nice theme, very simple and yeah, its using mootools. i love it
thanks Darran
Even though it’s version 1.2.4, the version number still shows up as 1.2.3 in footer.php.
I assume this was just an oversight?
Anyone wanting to change the version number to the correct one, look for the and change 1.2.3 to 1.2.4
When you mentioned you fixed the post date alignment issue, what did you mean?
The post date shown for the first post on the page shows up inline with the Title of the post, whereas the rest of the posts have the date lined up with the line below the title of the post.
Is there any way I can make these consistently lined up with the post title?
Thanks in advance, great theme, very slick.
Abhilash: The version number is an overside on my part, it should be 1.2.4 and not 1.2.3.
The post date alignment issue was to adjust the position of the date so that the date is aligned to the middle of the post title. The problem you are encountering is due to the post title being too long, I will come up with a fix for that real soon.
Thanks for your efforts and the prompt reply.
