I have not had my Chrismation yet
Despite having gone through the baptism ritual when I was much younger, I have not yet had my chrismation as a Roman Catholic. I will leave it to you to grind down the differences between the 2. As time would have it, I should have gotten it a long time ago.
Just like your average baptized kid, I went for Catechism classes every Sunday. The Mass would be followed after that, all in all I would spend 2.5 hours at the church. That was until when I was 12. I started to get lazy and ended up giving sorry excuses that I wasn’t feeling too well or that I had to study for my PSLE - which I never did. It started becoming a habit and eventually I stopped attending going to the church.
Though I went back to attending Catechism classes during my secondary school days, it only lasted for a week before my ill discipline caved in and I was back to skipping classes again. From time to time, I do attended the Mass and lately I have been giving sorry excuses for myself yet again.
It is not that I do not believe in the religion, it is just that I am not disciplined enough. This is the faith I believe in and I have already ascertained that God is my savior, my friend and regardless of my mistakes, the one who will propel me up from any dark abyss I may land myself into. I am still able to recite the Our Father and Hail Mary prayers without any references. They are as clear to me as though word for word were written on the back of my hand.
I just feel so tranquil in the presence of God, where I can just bare my entire self to him. You can really feel that you are connecting with him. My daily worries in that moment just seemed to drift away from me. And after every visit to the church, I just feel full of purpose and enthusiasm, it is as though God has given me new strength.
With my classes at NAAEC starting in just over a month’s time, it is impossible for me to resume the usual Sunday classes. I need to find time in my weekday schedule to slot in my Catechism classes as well as finding time to attend Mass at least once a week. The only real problem is that I am unsure of which church actually conducts lessons during the weekdays.
Anyone has a clue?
On a side note to Chrys:
Don’t worry, I shall pray for you. Just do not lose focus.
