June must be the month of misfortunes, at least for me. One after another, it has befallen me. First it was a strained tendon, then multiple wounds on my elbows, knee, heel and toe during last week’s street soccer session and now this, a stye. What is next on the list? Surprise me! Thankfully June is ending in another 3 days.

My left eye was badly swollen on Thursday and today it got worse. I was even asked whether did I had any sleep the previous night. At first, I thought it was a normal bruise I would occasionally suffer while sleeping. Just so you know, I have the weirdest odd habit of hurting myself while being asleep and I would wake up the next morning feeling the pinching pain.

Surprisingly enough, I have never hurt the ones whom I have shared a bed with.

If it was a normal bruise, the swelling would have at least soften down on the second day but it didn’t and a trip to the doctor beckoned. And it turned out to be something more than a simple bruise. Approximately a week to full recovery, hopefully in some way before the 3rd of July.

I decided to give today’s briefing with our X-Trekkers coordinator a miss. Despite its importance, I do not want to risk a re-infection and spoil my whole climbing experience. Right now, a good rest at home would be the best option. I can always gather the essentials from my friends later on.

You would not want to see me now. No outings this weekend. Stye has a very close phonetical similarity to Styke.
