Forget Starhub Serie A fans
There is a solution for us Singapore Serie A fans to be able to catch our favorite teams in live action again.
I mentioned about a site called seriea.tv a couple of posts back. I did some clarification with their staff and had a little chat, I can now confirm that they do own the internet broadcasting rights in Singapore. Upon hearing this revelation, I subscribed.
I gave it a test run by buying the Lazio - Milan match on a PPV basis for USD 6.95. For those interested, it is 6.95 USD for a pay per view subscription and 109.95 USD for a season pass (all Serie A and Coppa Italia games included). You can find out more in their FAQ.
I connected to the web cast 20 minutes in advanced as I was anxious to find out whether there would be any network congestion which might spoil my viewing experience. And to my delight, there wasn’t, the video was streamed very smoothly throughout the whole 90 minutes. I even got to catch a couple of interviews on players such as Nesta, Miccoli and Mutu prior to the match, something which we would never see provided by Starhub in the past.
One of the requirements is to have a 1mbps broadband internet connection. I may have to consider upgrading if I am to catch matches which kicks off at 1500 CET; an alternative to use another internet access provider maybe? For now, I am assured that I will never ever miss a big 2030 CET kickoff again and the thought of actually being able to catch the Rome Derby live simply excites me!
Please help to spread the word about seriea.tv and relieve fellow Serie A fans of their headache.
