I can live with the fact that every blogging platform has its short comings, WordPress included. However what I find difficult to accept is the unfair accusations made to the support forum and the WordPress community.

The support forums is a fantastic community to seek help from with a vast pool of discussions you might find useful in solving your problem. I joined in December 2005 and till today, I still participate actively. The forums is already cluttered with topics which the Codex readily has answers for.

Before you start on the all so familiar “The support forums sucks” rants, ask yourself whether you are going about looking for help the right way?

If you have followed the guidelines provided in the Codex, you are already half way there. Other members will guide you along, but do not make yourself the object of scorn. You have to put in some effort to fix the problem instead of waiting for a solution to be delivered to you.

I am sure many others would be glad in teaching you if you are keen on learning. As part of the community, we help and learn from one another. That is one of the beauties of WordPress.

So you have posted, and after a couple of days, there were no responses. There have been many complaints about an unhelpful community and how that influences their decision to not use WordPress. However what many fail to realize is that there is no dedicated support to one single user.

Other members are taking time out of their daily lives to have a look at the problem you are facing. But you have got to help them help you. Reading the guidelines is a start.
