Did SingPost Lose My Letter?
Update: I have received my letter on 20th September, it was 3 days late. I won’t pursue the matter but that does not mean SingPost cannot be faulted.
On Tuesday, I was informed by NAAEC through an email that I was being offered a place in the Bachelor of Computer Science. The original copy of the offer letter was supposed to reach me by post. 3 days later, I have yet to receive anything.
My response was to be returned to them, latest on the 20th of September or I would forfeit my place. Anxious, I decided to move one step ahead and inform them of my situation, that I have yet to receive the letter.
At first I wasn’t sure who was to blame, whether it was NAAEC for sending it to the wrong address or SingPost for losing the letter. After my home address was spelt out, and it was correct, character for character. I am pointing my finger at SingPost.
Never have I had a case of a letter gone missing. This is the very first of its kind.
After that much needed conversation, I can breathe easier now. They understood what I was going through and were flexible with the whole setup. My place will be confirmed and I do not need to worry about forfeiting it as I did not meet the deadline. What’s lacking now is a completed letter of offer and making the payment.
Following this encounter, I am not going to entrust something so important as my education to SingPost. I will head down to NAAEC personally to submit the completed acceptance slip and make payment.
What if an email wasn’t sent informing me that I was being offered a place in the degree program and the deadline set at 20th September? Or what if I had no access to the internet? Would I have unknowingly forfeited my place and spending a huge sum of money going through the preparatory course for nothing?
If my letter does not get to me, rest assured that I would lodge a complaint.
