Day 5: Yang Ming Shan
Our first taste of nature in Taipei, the past few days have been nothing but moving around in the city but this time we are going to the famous Yang Ming Shan. Headed to Taipei Main Station and went inside it to see how it actually looked like. A mini airport I would say.

Proceeded to wait for the bus 260. We stood there waiting and apparently, 2 bus went past us, so I was thinking whether we need to flag it more vigorously. Thankfully a lady told us that we were waiting at the wrong bus stop and directed us to the right one which was behind the railway station.
Taiwanese are so helpful! The funny thing was that the bus stop was supposed to be at the north of the METRO station but somehow we were waiting at the South.
Finally arriving at Yang Ming Shan terminal only to have it rain heavily. What luck!
Ended up sitting down at Starbucks Coffee for a good 3 hours before having our lunch at a nearby restaurant. The food was really good and we were one of the last customers there, what could you expect when you go in at 3pm to have your lunch.

At 4pm we could finally embark on Yang Ming Shan as the rain was not as heavy as before. We were definitely not going to waste the day, and so we head on. The scenery was beautiful, with the mist and high mountains, what a raveling sight! The rain was on and off, makes it kind of exciting in an orthodox fashion.
Some photos along the way …
How sweet is this? A leaf carved in the shape of a heart, how romantic if the girl of my dreams was there with me! Really unique leaf!

Really like the viewpoint of these 2 picture. Took this when we were on a much higher altitude after climbing an unbelievable amount of stairs. The trees encapsulating the village, acting as its frame, really liked how it looked.

We wanted to proceed further but a chicky chicky also known as a dog was barking its way towards us so we did not want to offend it. Off we left to Shih Lin Night Market once again, the last time we went, not all the stalls were opened so we decided to have a re look before setting off to Beitou Revolving Restaurant.
We alighted at Qi Li An Station and from a distance you can see where was Beitou Revolving Restaurant, it is not located at Beitou despite what its name suggests.
It is not very difficult for you to identify it. It was very tall and looked like a tower with lollipop colors, an easy solution would be to take a cab there but we decided to walk seeing the circumstances of my other comrade.
We based on the location of the restaurant and walked towards it, pretty far I must say, it took us about near to half an hour to arrive there. On sight, the restaurant did not have any strong lights, the lights was dim at best, really brings out a very mesmerizing atmosphere.
Good songs being sung and the restaurant revolving, good 360 degrees view on the North of Taipei. Within our whole dinner experience, we turned at least 720 degrees. Interesting … the food was not that exceptional, it was average, that is the highest marks I will give it.
It was not the food quality which I was impressed with but it was the ambience and experience in the restaurant. Simply stunning. Took a cab back to Qi Li An Station and subsequently back to Xi Men Station. A picture of how the barriers look like in Taipei Main Station. Really different isn’t it?

Gosh, I look so burnt in that picture, must have been the result of the red wine I drank. That’s what happens when you have not drank in such a long time.
Back to the hotel for some rest, was quite a day despite the early goings being not so positive.
