It was just another regular weekly street soccer session at Braddell Heights community center. Every time we play, it isn’t just a leisure sport, we play to our utmost limit and ability and most of the time injuries would be collected.

That is the reason why the street soccer sessions could last for up to 4 hours. We would practically play our hearts out until our legs could not manage it any longer. As a result, I come back from every session with numb legs which just needs that all important rest time.

I suffered a nose bleed today (not the kind you get when a hot chick gets you excited).

Some confusion led to an open goal opportunity for the opponents. The only thing standing between the ball and the goal was me. A header came, I got it away but at an expense. The ball had somehow crashed off my nose and there it was bleeding. Nothing too major, I washed it off with some water and continued with the game.

In another match we played, this time with people who do not know of. A freak accident occurred. The ball came in my direction and I made my move to clear it. But what I didn’t know was that my fellow team mate; TL had gone for it too and I only realized it when I was in mid air. I immediately retracted my leg but my right shin had nonetheless caught him on the side of his head.

He got a nasty cut just behind the top of his ear with blood gushing out. Clearly, a breakdown of communication had occurred as none of us knew the other would be going for the same ball. Given our commitment to every game we play in, it was only natural that we threw our bodies forward. Unfortunately, it led to an injury to TL.

I did not come away injury free though, I got a small bruise on my shin as well but it is nothing compared to the deep wound TL got. I am terribly sorry my friend.
